SHAPES Experience Center by M + R
Beginning this year (2016), the Shapes Experience Center in Nieuwegein was opened; a presentation space where architects, designers and finishing companies can be inspired in the field of decorative sheet material, ceiling and wall coverings, floors and lighting. There is an extensive library with samples and collection books. Events and training sessions are also organized.
The Shapes Experience Center is an initiative of RET interior, Astrimex, Bruijnzeel, Leoxx and Flos. In addition, products from Rockfon, Kronospan, Gyproc and Armstrong are on display.
The Center in a concept and design of M+R interior architecture. We have used the lotus flower and the chameleon as design inspiration; with the Lotus flower as a metaphor for purity and beauty and the chameleon for the ability to adapt and diversity. The Lotus flower is designed as 3 sculptural elements composed of decor sheet material, these objects rotate slowly. The space is divided into so-called color slides, with each slide representing a color of the total spectrum with different material applications.
