Not only architectural firms, but also the Dutch office of lighting manufacturer Flos International, established themselves in the robust Cruquiuskwartier in Amsterdam. With a sober design, M+R matched the style used by Dedato designers and architects, so that the interior of Flos in this building acquired a natural character. Flos was founded in Italy in the 1960s and has since launched a number of modern classics in the field of lighting. Well-known, for example, is the Arco floor lamp that bends far into space from a block of marble, designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in the 1960s, or the table lamp mounted on a golden gun designed by Philippe Starck. A real Italian design brand with branches all over the world, which has had a separate Dutch office for three years.

PRESENTATION ROOM

Powerful simplicity
Because Flos regularly collaborates with M+R Interior Architects, the choice was quickly made when the office in Amsterdam had to be furnished in 2005. The Cruquiuskwartier* was built in phases, and Flos initially settled in a modest space on the ground floor of the first part. When a larger space became available on the third floor in 2008, where the adjacent showroom of the Italian furniture brand Moroso was set up, Flos decided to move. M+R redesigned the space. Key words are - in line with the architecture of the Cruquiuskwartier - powerful simplicity.
