Eindhoven airport is a regional airport with national and international potential. Due to its steady growth, the existing terminal became too small and it was decided to build a new terminal. The new terminal has a futuristic look and an industrial finish.

NEW TERMINAL

M+R designed the interior of the departure hall and first floor with panoramic terrace and kitchen facilities. In addition, the catering facilities were designed on behalf of catering company Belvedair, based on a new catering concept. In order to create atmosphere and to offer the traveller an overview and support, a limited palette of primary colours was used. For example, all counters in the departure hall are bright red. The catering formulas Small, Medium and Large each had their own atmosphere, with the à la carte restaurant (Large) given a chic look with dark wooden interior with Italian furniture and large purple light fixtures. Above the large round central table, a crystal chandelier adorns the room as a classic counterpart to the sleek interior. The space is, as it were, a box within a box construction; the electrically opening special walls separate the space from the public areas in the terminal, creating an intimate atmosphere.
