Eindhoven Airport is a regional airport with national and international potential. Due to the steady growth, the existing terminal became too small and it was decided to build a new one. The new terminal has a futuristic appearance and an industrial finish.

NEW TERMINAL

M+R designed the interior of the departure hall and first floor with panoramic terrace and kitchen facilities. In addition, the catering establishments were designed on behalf of catering company Belvedair, based on a new catering concept. To create atmosphere and provide the traveler with an overview and guidance, a limited palette of primary colors was used. For example, all counters in the departure hall are bright red. The catering formulas Small, Medium and Large each had their own atmosphere, with the à la carte restaurant (Large) given a chic appearance with dark wooden interior with Italian furniture and large purple lighting fixtures. A crystal chandelier adorns the large round central table as a classic counterpart to the sleek interior. The space is, as it were, a box within a box construction, the electrically openable special walls allow the space to be separated from the public spaces in the terminal, creating an intimate atmosphere.
