BASEMENT BUILING TOWER 'VAN OUD' IN THE HAGUE
Place:
The Hague
Year:
2025
Project:
For the plinth building of the Toren van Oud in The Hague, M+R interior architecture, in collaboration with Huisman & van Muijen, Mobius Consult, and Vianen Bouwadvies, is developing a design for a medical center and a gym and fitness facility for employees.
The design focuses on creating a healthy, safe, and welcoming environment where well-being is a top priority.

Description:
The integration of greenery and natural elements creates a strong connection between the building and its surroundings. This seamless integration contributes to a soothing atmosphere and supports the recovery and vitality of the users.
Daylight, transparency, and clear sightlines play an important role in the design. Combined with natural materials and a carefully curated color palette, the result is an interior that exudes calm and comfort. The spaces are clearly laid out and intuitively organized, allowing users to easily find their way around and feel safe.
The medical center and sports facilities are designed as complementary functions within a single cohesive whole, where exercise, care, and relaxation reinforce one another. The design focuses on reducing stress and promoting a sense of well-being, both physically and mentally.
Sustainability is an integral part of the design. The focus is on future-proof solutions, with attention to material use, energy, and a healthy living environment. At the same time, the design aligns with the urban context of the Toren van Oud and contributes to the quality of the immediate surroundings.
